    Get out of that Pit: Straight talk about God's deliverance intro

    All of the following i have gotten from the following book Get out of  that pit: straight talk about God's deliverance by Beth Moore, &God's word. These are just some note i took while reading the 1st chapter.

     I waited and waited and waited for God. At last he looked; finally he listened.
       He lifted me out of the ditch,
          pulled me from deep mud.
       He stood me up on a solid rock
          to make sure I wouldn't slip.
       He taught me how to sing the latest God-song,
          a praise-song to our God.
       More and more people are seeing this:
          they enter the mystery,
          abandoning themselves to God.

    Psalm  40:1-3 ( the message version)

    Life in the pit

    I do not have to be content where I am when Jesus said "come,follow me' that was his invitation not only to follow him,but also to leave the pit.(matthew 16:24) & (mark 1:17).

    You can know that you are in a pit when .....

    1. You Feel Stuck- a pit is a place where you feel trapped you  either misbeave kicking & screaming fit or submit and deicide 2 "die in it". Psalm 40 say this about the pit slimy, muddy miry..you can't get yourself out.  A pit only gets deeper. Low grown always sinks There's no living at maintenance level in a pit. People stay in bad places when they don't have to. Thats a big part of what makes a pit a pit feeling stuck.
    2. You Can't Stand up- "I sink in deep mire,
               Where there is no standing;
               I have come into deep waters,
               Where the floods overflow me."- Psalm 69:2 (NKJV)
        We can't keep on ingoring someone who is systematically trying to destroy our lives. Ephesisans 6:11 says "take your stand against the devil schemes" No one can stand indefinitely for me.  If  I am going to be victorious I must stand with my own two  feet on solid ground. Ephesians 6:13
      Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. (NLT) another version says it this way "Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]"  -Ephesians 6:13 (Amplified Bible) One way that you can know that you're in a pit is that you feel ineffective and utterly powerless against attack.  he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to satnd-paslm40;2b
    3. You've lost vision-

     a pit's so poorly lit we can no longer see things that may have once been obvious to us. {another reason why we stay in the pit ...we are convinced there is no where else to go}

    we become what the bible calls stiff necked the close confinements of a pit exhaust us with the endless echo of self-absorption. NEARSIGHTEDNESS BREEDS HOPELESSNESS

    We feel too buried in our present state to feel passionate about a promise future. created in the image of God, we are meant to brim over with creativity. what i miss in the pit is : having the eyes our your heart flooded with light.-ephesians1:8  In the light of God's face shinning upon us, we also glimpse reflections of our true selves.

    "We an be young and yet feel old heavy laden.burdened. in a pit where vision is lost and dreams are foolishness"

    "Not only are wonder,hope , and vision natural when our feet are set upon a rock,but so is our vantage point from which we can see the enemy's activity around us"

    we don't have to be in a strong  hold of sin to be in a pit we just have to feel stuck,feel we can't stand up to our enemy and feel like we've lost our vision. thats all it takes to constitute a pit.
